The L. P. Gas Commission Web Home Page is now “OPERATIONAL”. The Internet address is www.dps.state.la.us/lpg/home.html. There are a few “BUGS” to be worked out, however, it is very user-friendly. Most information can be downloaded. All information on the site is current and will be updated daily. The site contains various forms and information such as: the LA Revised Statutes (R. S. 40:1841, etc., for L. P. Gas and R. S. 3:1351, etc., for Anhydrous Ammonia), the Louisiana Administrative Code (Title 55, Chapters 1 & 2 for L. P. Gas, Title 55, Chapter 15 for Anhydrous Ammonia); Application forms to apply for various permits (L. P. The Liquefied Petroleum Gas Commission continued its regular meeting Thursday, November 16, 2000 at 1723 Dallas Drive, Suite A, Baton Rouge, Louisiana. The meeting was called to order by the Chairman with the following members present:

1. Did engage in the L. P. Gas business without obtaining the required permit; thus violating R. S. 40:1847 (A) of the Louisiana Revised Statutes of 1950, as amended. Postponed until the December meeting.

1. Did allow employee, Eric R. Nonette, to operate a cylinder deliver truck without the required card of competency; thus violating R. S. 40:1849 (C)(1) of the Louisiana Revised Statutes of 1950, as amended. Found guilty and assessed a penalty of $250.00.

2. Did allow employee, Brad Fullerton, to overfill a 60 lb. DOT L. P. Gas cylinder; thus violating LAC 55:IX.181 (A), NFPA 58-1995, 4-4.2.1. Found guilty and assessed a penalty of $300.00 suspend $150.00 provided there are no other violations for twelve (12) months and ordered to remain after the meeting for a safety film.

1. Did fail to submit payment for civil penalties assessed on Docket #000032 by the L. P. Gas Commission within 30 days after final assessment; thus violating R. S. 40:1848 (B)

FIRES AND ACCIDENTS

There are no related fires to report.

Several dealers reported five unrelated fires and two unrelated accidents. The fires destroyed three homes, damaged one home, destroyed one mobile home. The fires are believed to be caused from an electric space heater, an extension cord getting hot, and electrical short and one is still being investigated. There was no loss of product and no injuries were reported.

Two dealers reported accidents involving their company vehicle. One accident occurred when a vehicle turned into the path of their bobtail causing an unavoidable accident. The other was the driver of the company vehicle drove off and forgot to disengage the hose from the tank. There was loss of product and no injuries were reported.
